Bulging stomach? Flabby thighs? Sagging buttocks? Here is an idea to enhance those parts of your body- shapewear! Now, when people think of shapewear, they often think about those grotesque uncomfortable, think layered, sweat producing girdles that your grandmother used to wear. However, shapewear has come a long way from being all the aforementioned characteristics listed above. Shapewear in recent years have transformed into stylish, sexy, and comfortable outerwear while maintaining their function to augment the body’s natural features. Some of the benefits of shapewear is that they tone the body and provide control to the jiggly parts. All the while producing a smooth silhouette that allows you to wear your favorite tight-fitting sexy cocktail dress, firm up that soft rear, and add curves to your figure. Additionally, shapewear is an inexpensive way to enhance your body all while maintaining your sex appeal, confidence, and attraction.


There are many different types of shapers that all serve different types of purposes:

  • Corset: Corsets are like waist cinchers but offers more support. This is because it offers support right below the bust to the waist. It has hook and eye enclosure in the front and lace up in the back. They also have boning in place to slim the waist and midriff.


Remember, when you were shapewear, the purpose is to smooth out and tone the body. Therefore, no matter what type of shapewear you use, it should fit comfortably and smoothly with no bulges. Otherwise, wearing the shapewear will be counterproductive.


Now, modern fashion has taken a turn in the past few decades to which many women have started to wear shapewear as outerwear. For example, you can wear a bodysuit and match it to your favorite pair of jeans or shorts. Also, you can wear your compression tank top, waist cinchers, and bodysuits are part of the trending athleisure style. Moreover, it is common for many women to wear bustiers and corsets as outerwear tops matched with jeans, shorts, skirts, etc. It all goes into how you want to pull off your look! Therefore, use shapewear to enhance you body, conceal your flaws, and create an exciting appearance!
