Your lingerie drawer most likely boasts a wide variety of sexy and glamorous pieces – from silk chemises that drape down to your hips to corsets that give you an hourglass figure. But the one thing that your lingerie drawer needs is a slew of lacy teddies, which are a basic in the lingerie world. A teddy combines the style of a bustier (another lingerie favorite) with panties to create a body-like suit or as others like to put it, a sexy one-piece swimsuit. You can easily wear them under clothes for a confidence booster or under your favorite silk kimono when you want to tantalize your man with some serious eye candy. Every woman’s lingerie chest should have at least one black or white teddy!
The first teddy dates back to 1910, but it was then called an envelope chemise or camiknickers and they weren’t very sexy. They were an undergarment that combined knickers and a camisole in one piece. It wasn’t until the 1990s that the teddy became sexy. But many have confused the teddy with a bodysuit because they both cover a woman’s body like a one-piece swimsuit. However, a teddy is sexier and revealing, usually sheerer than a bodysuit.
And just as there are various types of lingerie pieces, there are also different types of teddies. The Sleep Teddy is supposed to be use for sleeping and isn’t as sexy as a regular teddy, often very loose-fitting. The Teddiette is when you want to be sexy in bed and features garter straps and lots of sheer lace and should be worn when you want to have fun in the bedroom. There’s also a Body Briefer Teddy that’s essentially like Spanx and is supposed to give you extra support and hide your trouble areas. Some brave fashionistas have even resorted to using teddies as a top with a skirt or pants for a sexy, yet sophisticated, look!
Teddies are actually very versatile pieces of clothing and can be used in the bedroom or under your regular work attire to give you an amazing figure and make you feel sexy – which is why it’s a lingerie drawer staple! #livelovesexy #hollywoodlifestyles #lingerieandchill
