How many of us are a ghost in a shell? We are all living examples of the Major- a mere body that conceals our deepest thoughts and desires. We become introverts when it comes to certain traits about ourselves because WE fear what people think about us…People are afraid of who WE really are…most importantly- WE fear ourselves. When it comes to self-discovery…we have all types of fetishes that we would like to explore. However… we don’t. This is because some of our ideas and aspirations can be considered taboo, shameful, dirty, shocking, and uncomfortable. Yet, many of us practice our self-discovery behind closed doors. Before places like Victoria’s Secret pushed the sale of exotic and sexy lingerie to the mainstream, lingerie boutiques were in a nebulous- too hot for the mainstream, not explicit enough to be strictly for adult entertainment. To this day, lingerie retailers are still in a haze to those that are not enthusiasts. There is nothing wrong with being curious about one’s own sensuality if it is within reason and no one is harmed. There are many motivations behind wearing exotic and sensual lingerie:

1. To get attention from your partner

2. To highlight your features and conceal what you consider flaws.

3. To fancy yourself.

Many people dismiss lingerie as simply fancy undergarments. Contrastingly, lingerie is a form of self-discovery to others. Lingerie is a turn on for the exhibitionists. Lingerie is a turn on for the voyeurs. Lingerie serves a variety of purposes when it comes to telling, rather showing the story of you. It assists in describing who you are, what you like about yourself, what you want others to like about you. The type of lingerie you like to wear and how you like to wear is a statement of you!
