Which Bra is the right bra? Many women do not know. From experience, many of my customers models I've worked with, and female friends admit to hating bras- they hurt, they make their breast feel tired, they draw heat, the are completely uncomfortable, etc. Many women feel that wearing a bra is pointless or counter-productive. Those anti-bra sentiments are fully understandable. Many women prefer not to wear bras for a variety of reasons- health being the biggest one! However, many women do not wear bras or do like them because they never have gotten properly fitted to know which bras to wear. Every woman’s breasts are different- in shape, firmness, size, congruency, etc. Therefore, when it comes to choosing bras, consider the type of breasts you have as well as the size and shape of them. Knowing these principles will have a tremendous effect of how you like to wear brassieres.

To begin, if you already didn’t know, no pair of women’s breasts are the same. Breasts comes in different varieties, but here are the most common types:

Full on Bottom:

Full on bottom breasts are when most of the mass of the breast is below the nipple.

Full on Top:

Full on bottom breasts are when most of the mass is above the nipple line.

Full All Around (Even Breasts):

Full all around breasts are when the shape, fullness, and firmness is evenly distributed around the breasts.

Pendulous:

Pendulous breasts are when most of the breast mass is below the breast crease line on the chest.

Tuberous:

Tuberous breasts are small breasts that lack significant breast tissue. They are often shaped like a tube because they are long and narrow.

When it comes to buying brassieres, it is important to know what kind of breast you have in order to know what kind bras to buy.

Next, it is important to know which bras are great for each type of breasts. Wearing the best type of bra that is suited for your type of breasts you have is going to give you the best comfort and look underneath clothes. Here is a cheat sheet:

The type of bra you wear should be determined by the type of breasts you have. While this guide is to assist you in getting the best fit, remember the best way to pick out a brassiere is to simply get fitted at a local lingerie shop, dry cleaners, or seamstress.

After you have determined the best bra for your breasts, it is time to make sure that it fits you with maximum comfort and support while looking great under clothes. When you wear a bra, the center gore should sit against the breast bone in the space between the breasts. Additionally, the cups should surround each breast at the crease between your chest and your breast. If your breasts bulge in the cups or doesn’t fill the cup all the way you need to try a different style of bra or a different size. When it comes to bra straps, it should fit firm- not too tight and not too loose. The strap is too small if it causes pain, discomfort, bruises, bulging of the skin, or cut into the skin. Furthermore, the strap is too large if it slips out of place.

Now that you have a better idea of how to wear a bra, it is important to wear a bra that is going to give to best support and comfort all while looking stylish in and out of your clothes. While this post touched on how to match the best types of bras to fit with the different types of breasts, keep in mind that there are many types of bras out there. We will cover in more detail about the different types bras in another article. In the meantime, take the time to get to know your breasts so will know the best bra for them.
